OFRILI ESIM GUIDE

Local, regional or global eSIM: which should you choose?

Choose the right travel eSIM coverage type by matching it to your itinerary, trip length and data needs.

Local plans

A local eSIM is designed around one destination. It can be a straightforward choice for a single-country trip, especially when you want to compare plan sizes and validity for that market.

Regional plans

A regional eSIM can cover several countries under one plan. It is useful for multi-stop travel when every destination on the route is included. Coverage lists matter: a region label does not automatically mean every country in that region is supported.

Global plans

A global eSIM is intended for broader itineraries across multiple regions. Convenience can be the main advantage, but you should still compare the supported countries, data allowance, validity and network details with regional alternatives.

A simple decision rule

Start with the exact itinerary. For one country, compare local plans. For several countries in one area, check regional coverage. For a trip spanning distant regions, compare a global option. The best plan is the one that covers the full route with suitable data and validity, not simply the broadest label.
